Technical Standards and Global Readiness: WAI Film Screenings at AI for Good 2026

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND — Today at the AI for Good Global Summit, two sessions addressing technical frameworks and infrastructure readiness will feature film screenings to ground their respective discussions. Both films involve members of the Women in AI (WAI) community and are integrated directly into the summit's official workshops and panels.

Below is the schedule and detail for these sessions:

1:00 PM CEST | AI and Multimedia Authenticity Standards Workshop

This workshop focuses on the technical and legal challenges of deepfakes, synthetic media, and compliance frameworks. To provide a real-world case study on the impact of misinformation, the session will include a screening of the short film "Can You Trust?". The screening will serve as a baseline visual reference for the international panel as they discuss mapping global standards to restore public trust. You can watch the video online from 1 pm CEST at this link.

2:30 PM CEST | From AI Promise to AI Readiness Interactive Panel

  • Organized by: ITU Partner2Connect

  • Film Creator: Lisa Russell (WAI Kenya Ambassador & Emmy®-winning filmmaker)

  • Session Details: View ITU Event Page

This interactive session addresses the infrastructure gaps, skills shortages, and digital divides that data networks face globally. The discussion opens with the premiere of THE SIGNAL: Before the Return, a 3-part narrative film set in the year 2036. The film frames a speculative scenario regarding global cooperation failures, acting as a narrative prompt for participants before the panel transitions into real-world infrastructure commitments from international partners. You can watch the video at this link from 3 pm CEST at this link.

Support for Girls in ICT Day

In addition to the main governance tracks, the summit is hosting the Girls in ICT Day: Inspiring the Next Generation initiative. WAI Switzerland Ambassador Hala Hibri is participating on-site, engaging with young students and tech enthusiasts to discuss education and career pathways in the AI ecosystem.
